A 60-minute video call where we'll work through your Switzerland hiking plans—whether you're refining an itinerary, choosing a region, or just getting started. This isn't generic advice. Before we talk, I spend time researching your specific situation so I can come prepared with tailored suggestions. And during the call, my approach is educational: I'll give you hike & itinerary recommendations, but I'll also show you how I plan and navigate the country—the trail maps I use, how to find public transit stops, what to know about hut culture, and so on. We’ll also talk through any specific questions you have. By the end, you'll leave with a clear plan, concrete route ideas, and the skills to keep planning and exploring on your own.

I review your survey responses and spend time researching specific trails, regions, and logistics before we talk—so our call can be focused and actionable.

60-minute Call

A  video call with tailored recommendations and advice for your trip, including a general overview of how hiking in Switzerland works.

Follow-up Resources

After the call, I’ll send a follow-up document recapping everything we talked about, and anything extra I found that might be helpful.

    “We already made a rough plan, but needed a second set of eyes”

    →  One traveler stitched together a hut-to-hut route from blogs and map apps but wasn’t sure if it made sense on the ground. We walked through it day by day: checking the huts, tweaking some of the pacing, and adding a lower-elevation detour in case of late snow.

    → This couple wanted to hike independently, but the hut system felt unfamiliar and hard to organize. I showed them how to reserve huts, map a logical route, and use the same tools I use for public transport and weather. They left with a clear plan and the confidence to manage it on their own.

    →In early July, one hiker messaged wondering if they’d waited too long to plan a hut-to-hut route for that same month. I suggested a few multiday hikes in less busy regions, and we talked through a 3-night plan that worked with what was available.

    →Two friends who hiked a lot in the US, and were excited but uncertain about what to expect in a Swiss hut: like how to make reservations, what meals are like, and so on. I walked them through a typical hut day from breakfast to lights out, explained how to map out a trail, and suggested a few of my favorite huts to get them started.

  • Demystifying the Tools

    “Everyone says to use the SAC site, but I don’t know what I’m looking at.”

    → A traveler trying to build his own route was stuck in a maze of tabs, route lines, and hut websites. In our call, we opened his draft route together and used the consult to demystify things: how to tell if a hut’s open, when to worry about elevation gain, what “T2” really means. With a few easy tips and tools, he could actually make progress on planning.

  • Narrowing It Down

    “We were overwhelmed with options and needed help choosing the right region.”

    → A couple flying into Zurich wanted to hike for 3–5 days and had a list of spots they were excited about, but no idea how to prioritize. We talked through the feel of each region, cross-checked logistics, and talked about potential itineraries that gave them the views they wanted without losing days to travel.
